Discover Our Story
The Chyna McGarity Group, LLC was founded from lived experience, resilience, and a deep commitment to transformation.
What began as survival became a calling—to advocate, to educate, and to create pathways for healing, leadership, and sustainable impact. Our work bridges personal empowerment, community advocacy, and innovative strategy to support meaningful change.
We believe that survival is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of significance.
The Journey from Survival to Significance
A Framework for Healing, Growth, and Purpose-Driven Impact
This is the foundation of everything we do. "From Survival to Significance" is a transformational framework designed to support growth, healing, and leadership at every stage of the journey. This methodology recognizes that healing is not linear but intentional, and that transformation requires both internal work and external support. Our programs, resources, and advocacy efforts are designed to meet individuals where they are and equip them with what they need to move forward with agency, dignity, and hope.
Our Approach
Survive
Acknowledge and honor the journey. Survivors begin by recognizing their experiences without shame or judgment. We create safe, affirming spaces where truth-telling is honored and trauma is validated.
Heal
Build emotional, spiritual, and practical tools. Through holistic support, education, and community connection, survivors address the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual impacts of trauma with evidence-informed practices and culturally responsive care.
Reclaim
Restore voice, confidence, and identity. Survivors reframe their narratives and reclaim their power. With access to tools, training, and mentorship, they begin to see their experiences not as limitations, but as sources of insight, strength, and purpose.
Build
Create structure, strategy, and sustainability. Survivors develop the practical foundations needed for long-term stability—building systems, resources, and pathways that support continued growth and meaningful contribution.
Thrive
Walk in purpose and impact others intentionally. Survivors step into leadership, advocacy, and meaningful contribution. They become agents of change in their own lives and communities—modeling resilience and creating pathways for others to follow.
This framework serves individuals, organizations, and communities seeking meaningful and lasting change.
Warrior Survivors
Within our framework, Warrior Survivors are individuals who self-identify as moving beyond crisis and actively reclaiming agency, voice, and purpose-driven leadership. This is an optional identity—not a requirement—and it honors both ongoing healing and meaningful contribution through advocacy, mentorship, storytelling, or community leadership.
  • Self-identified strength rooted in dignity and choice
  • Resilience in action through growth, stability, and purpose
  • Community impact through lived experience and leadership

Quick Note on Language
Throughout this site, the term survivor may appear in general language. Warrior Survivor is an optional, self-identified term for individuals who feel they are moving beyond crisis and actively reclaiming agency, voice, healing, and purpose-driven leadership.
There is no required timeline for healing—only your pace.
You may identify as:
  • A survivor
  • A Warrior Survivor
  • Someone still in crisis
  • Someone seeking safety
  • Or none of these labels
What matters most is that you are here, you are seen, and you deserve support—wherever you are in your journey.
Faith, Abuse, and the Truth God Wants You to Know
This section is important — and often avoided.
Many people stay in abusive relationships because of their faith. They believe that marriage means enduring harm. They are told to "pray harder," "be more submissive," or "trust God more."
I need to say this clearly:
God did not create you to be abused.
God did not design marriage to be violent.
God does not require you to stay in danger to prove your faith.
Spiritual Abuse Is Real — And It Is Harmful
Spiritual abuse happens when faith or Scripture is used to control, silence, or frighten someone into staying in harm.
This can look like:
Being told you are not a "submissive enough" wife
Being blamed for the abuse
Being told God will punish you if you leave
Being discouraged from attending church or church activities
Being isolated from friends, family, or support
Being told to forgive without accountability or safety
Being shamed for speaking up
I experienced this personally. I was told the abuse was happening because I was not obedient enough, and was instructed to stay, pray more, and submit.
But submission does not mean suffering — and God never intended it to.
What the Bible Actually Says
The Bible is clear about love, safety, and dignity.
God Does NOT Support Abuse
"The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, those who love violence, He hates."
— Psalm 11:5
"God is not a God of confusion, but of peace."
— 1 Corinthians 14:33
"Love does no harm to a neighbor."
— Romans 13:10
Submission Is Mutual—Not One-Sided
"Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ."
— Ephesians 5:21
Submission in marriage was never meant to be:
  • Control
  • Fear
  • Violence
  • Silence
  • Loss of identity
It is mutual respect, care, and protection.
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her."
— Ephesians 5:25
Christ did not harm the church.
Christ protected, served, and sacrificed.
When Faith Is Used to Silence Survivors
This must be said plainly:
Churches have ignored abuse
Survivors have been blamed
Abusers have been protected
Silence has been mistaken for faith
Victims have been told to endure instead of be safe
And in some cases, the abuser is a church leader.
When that happens, many victims feel trapped:
Afraid to speak
Afraid no one will believe them
Afraid their reputation will be ruined
Afraid they will lose their faith community
This is not what God intended.
A Message to the Church
Churches must do better.
Stop silencing victims
Stop protecting abusers
Stop misusing Scripture
Create confidential, safe reporting spaces
Partner with professionals
Offer support, not judgment
Understand that forgiveness ≠ staying in danger
Faith should be a place of refuge — not fear.
A Statement of Faith, Love, and Accountability
"I love faith. I love the church. And because I do, I'm willing to tell the truth so we can do better."
This work is rooted in deep respect for faith and the role the church plays in people's lives. Telling the truth is not an act of opposition—it is an act of love.
Accountability strengthens communities.
Honest conversations create safer spaces.
And growth begins when we are willing to listen, reflect, and respond with compassion and courage.
This statement sets the tone for the survivor-centered voices and resources that follow—grounded in faith, guided by truth, and committed to doing better together.
If You Are Experiencing Spiritual or Domestic Abuse
Please hear this:
You are not sinning by seeking safety
You are not failing God by leaving abuse
You are not weak for needing help
You are not alone
God does not want you harmed.
God does not want you silenced.
God does not want you to lose your life trying to "hold things together."
What You Can Do Next
Seek Safe, Credible Support
  • A licensed counselor or therapist
  • A domestic violence advocate
  • A faith leader trained in abuse response
  • A crisis or DV hotline

Do not rely only on friends who say:
"Girl, I wouldn't put up with that."
This is your life — not a conversation.
If You Are in the Church
  • Ask if the church has a domestic violence policy
  • Ask who handles confidential reports
  • Ask if they work with professional advocates
  • If you feel unsafe — seek help outside the church
Remember This Above All
Your life matters more than appearances.
Your safety matters more than tradition.
Your faith was never meant to cost you your life.

A Survivor's Truth About Mental Health and Hope
I want to speak honestly here—because survival is not always strong, polished, or pretty. Sometimes survival looks like barely breathing. Sometimes it looks like giving up. And sometimes, it looks like God stepping in when you no longer can.
More than 40 years ago, I experienced a moment of deep hopelessness during abuse—not because I wanted to die, but because I could not see a way out, and I was desperate to protect my children.
There was a time in my life when the pain became so heavy that I tried to end my life. I was overwhelmed, hopeless, and exhausted—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I could not see a way forward. I could not find help. I had nowhere safe to go. I felt like I was failing at everything, including protecting my children.
But God stopped me.
Not because I was strong—but because He was. Even in my darkest moment, when I believed my life had no value and no future, God had already written purpose over me. He intervened when I could not. He spared my life when I had given up on it.
What I learned is this: Mental health is real, and suicidal thoughts can happen when fear, trauma, isolation, and disbelief pile up for too long. When people dismiss you, minimize what you're living through, or refuse to believe you, it can distort how you think, what you believe is possible, and whether you feel safe enough to keep going.
I share this truth to bring clarity and compassion to what survivors often carry in silence:
You are not "crazy."
You are not "tripping."
You should never have to prove your pain to deserve support.
There is a way forward—and sometimes the first step is to pause, breathe, make a plan, and hold on to faith that you will make it through.
This message is shared with care to reduce shame, educate others, and remind survivors that support and safety planning can save lives.

Welcome
This training was created from lived experience.
It is for anyone who has ever been told:

Why Survivors Stay
People don't stay because they want to.
They stay because:

They fear losing their children
They lack financial support
They are spiritually manipulated
They are told abuse is their fault
They don't know where to go
This is survival — not weakness.
